...but who am I?

Hi, if we haven’t met yet, I'm Mariana! Originally from Brazil, my professional journey has taken me through the USA, Denmark, and France.

I'm a multidisciplinary educator, designer, and researcher passionate about nurturing learning processes with creativity while sparking joy along the way.

With over 13 years of experience in both formal and informal learning spaces, I've discovered a deep need for support in the learning process. Most learning spaces tend to overemphasize instruction-oriented learning, outcomes, and standards. However, people learn best when they create something meaningful with peers, in a safe space that allows for exploration.

For this reason, I use constructionist and social-cultural perspectives to craft learning experiences that are meaningful, playful, and process-oriented. Beyond designing the experiences, I leverage my design background to create materials and tools to support those. Also, my research expertise allows me to assess and analyze what makes a good learning experience.

If you are also excited about hands-on, meaningful, and creative learning, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let's experiment, tinker, and design together!
