...but who am I?
Hi, if we haven’t met yet, I'm Mariana! Originally from Brazil, my professional journey has taken me through the USA, Denmark, and France.
I'm a multidisciplinary educator, designer, and researcher passionate about nurturing learning processes with creativity while sparking joy along the way.
With 10+ years of experience in both formal and informal learning spaces, I've discovered a deep need for people to be supported in their learning process. Most learning spaces tend to overemphasize instruction-oriented learning, outcomes, and standards. However, people learn best when they create something meaningful with peers, in a safe space that allows for exploration.
For this reason, I use constructionist and social-cultural perspectives to craft learning experiences that are meaningful, playful, and process-oriented. Beyond designing the experiences, I leverage my design background to create materials and tools to support those. Also, my research expertise allows me to assess and analyze what makes a good learning experience.
If you are also excited about hands-on, meaningful, and creative learning, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let's experiment, tinker, and design together!
